Ankit Agrawal, Director of MDPH group was invited By Big FM as a future forward-thinking leader, as his work has left a great imprint in the incense industry. The webinar was a spotlight on his achievements and invited him for the Learning series– ‘The BIG Morning Show –Onward & Upward’ to give a thoughtful Leadership session & industry insights to the employees of Big FM.
In the webinar, the successor of the MDPH group told the success tale of how a company founded in a garage ended up being the household name in not only India but also overseas. He narrated the story of his father, a young dreamer and entrepreneur who had tried his luck in many businesses but only succeeded when he stepped in the Incense industry and that was the turning point of Mr. Prakash Agrawal’s life; the founder of MDPH group. He started afresh with his mother’s blessings and dreams of making it big. With his hard work and dedication, he did make his brand felt across India and internationally.
He was very much adamant for his ethics and believed in providing only the best quality product. He researched, studied and did surveys on the test market before coming up with the final product.
As a man of his principles, he never used the names of GODs or religion to sell any of his products and it still is a company policy to never do so. Also by naming the product in English, i.e. Zed Black, he attracted the customers to use it once and then the aroma of Zed Black did the rest. He taught the market that, without using ‘HIS’ name and images or devotional names, such devotional products can be sold handsomely in traditional markets. Talking about his mother, Ankit Agrawal told that she played the most important role in developing the rich fragrances of MDPH that still are enigmatic to customers. She still develops aromas for the Company’s products.
The webinar was for about an hour and was attended by more than 200 employees of Big FM. He addressed the various questions addressing how to create the brand value, how to attract customers, packaging and about the future Big Plans post COVID-19.
The popular brand Zed Black is endorsed by the Ace cricketer M.S. Dhoni. The brand is perceived very well not only in India but in 41 countries worldwide. Products are manufactured in 4 owned manufacturing units with area of 60,400 sq m (6,50,000 sq. ft approx) with a production capacity of more than 30 million incense sticks per day.
